DO YOU LOVE READING? If you can read this message you can make a difference, just by doing what you love. Calling all moms, dads, sisters, brothers, grandmas, grandpas, cousins. Share your love of reading with the world. Let's save lives through literacy, one book at a time!
Our awesome and amazing community connections have successfully built the infrastructure to host our audio book recordings. Use your cell phone "recorder" to capture the audio as you read out loud. The audio file will be added to our growing collection of books that are accessible from the phone. Your voice will help anyone, anywhere to be able to Listen and Learn. How cool is that? Have your children, your grandchildren, your family and friends record as they read, then submit the audio files using our easy to follow process. Enjoy hearing the the voices you love, sharing a book with strangers. Visit www.glendalewomansclub.com/literacy-programs for a list of available books on the phone. To all our volunteer readers: THANK YOU for being a part of our team where Together Everyone Accomplishes More!

BACKGROUND: Several years ago researchers began working on a strategy to help children that hated reading. At the same time, they began work on strategies to help save the lives of dogs at the animal shelters, and found an increase in those scheduled to be euthanized due to overcrowding at these shelters. A winning strategy was found based upon the groundbreaking research of leading animal health researchers. Dr. Lori Kogan, Ph.D. Download Reading to Dogs Research, a winning combination (below)
